What to Expect at Your Immigration Medical Exam

The immigration medical exam is straightforward. As long as you do not have a Class A communicable disease, a substance abuse disorder, or a condition that poses a risk to others, you will pass the exam. Common conditions like high blood pressure or diabetes will not prevent you from passing.

Lab Work by Age

Children under 2 — No lab testing is required.

Ages 2 and up — A blood test for tuberculosis (TB) is required. We provide on-site testing.

Ages 18-44 — STD screening is required in addition to TB testing.

COVID-19 Vaccination

USCIS no longer requires COVID-19 vaccination for the I-693 medical examination.
